The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District requires a contract to provide Maintenance Dredging, Wilmington Harbor Anchorage Basin, 42-Ft Project, and 32-ft Turning Basin, New Hanover and Brunswick Counties, North Carolina. The work includes maintenance dredging of upper Wilmington Harbor federal navigation channel reaches including the Anchorage Basin, Between Channel, Upper Brunswick Channel, Lower Brunswick Channel, 32-ft Turning Basin, the North Carolina State Ports Authority (NCSPA) berth areas, and lower Wilmington Harbor federal navigation channel reaches consisting of Horseshoe Shoal Channel and Snows Marsh Channel. The work will consist of removal and disposal of shoaled material that has accumulated in the channels since the various areas were last dredged. The work will require a hydraulic cutter suction dredge. Dredging depths are 32′ plus 2′ of allowable overdepth, 38′ plus 2′ of allowable overdepth and 42′ plus 2′ of allowable overdepth. The estimated quantity of material to be dredged is 1,900,000 cubic yards. The Government furnished disposal areas for the upper Wilmington Harbor federal navigation channel reaches and the NCSPA berth areas is the Eagle Island Cell No. 1 upland diked disposal area. Ferry Slip Island and South Pelican Island are the government furnished disposal areas for Horseshoe Shoal and Snows Marsh Channels. The environmental window for dredging the NCSPA berth areas is 1 October 2016 through 31 January 2017. The environmental window for dredging the upper Wilmington Harbor federal navigation channel reaches is 1 August 2016 through 31 January 2017. There is no environmental window for dredging Horseshoe Shoal and Snows Marsh Channels. The environmental window for placement of dredged material on Ferry Slip and South Pelican Islands is 1 September 2016 through 31 March 2017.
This solicitation is a 100% Small Business set-aside. The contract issued will be Firm Fixed Price. The Magnitude of Construction of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.00.
